FAQs

Can I pick up my tubers if I live in Launceston?

You sure can! Please select the pick up option when you check out. Please only select this if you can collect your order in person from Launceston, otherwise you will be required to pay postage.

We will be in touch via email or text to notify you of when you can collect your order.

How much is shipping?

Shipping rates soon to come.

Where can you ship dahlia tubers to?

We can ship to all Australian states except Western Australia and Northern Territory. We cannot ship internationally.

How are the tubers shipped?

Tubers are sent in individually labelled brown paper bags, stored in vermiculite, within an express post box.

Upon arrival, please open the box and check tubers as soon as possible, contacting us within 48 hours with any issues. If an eye/shoot has snapped off, not to worry, another will grow in its place.

How do I store my dahlia tubers when they arrive?

If it is too early to plant in your area, you can either transfer tubers into your own preferred storage medium, or keep them in the bag in a cool place and check regularly, making sure they don’t dry out.

Why is my tuber small/why can’t I see any eyes?

Dahlia tubers are not bulbs, meaning size does not matter with tubers. Any tuber with an 'eye', a 'neck' and a 'body' (be it large, tiny or damaged) will grow. Tuber size varies across varieties and plants. Small tubers often are quicker to grow than larger ones, so don’t be concerned. Well respected farms all state that generally anything bigger than a AAA battery is fine.

Sometimes eyes can be hard to spot before they shoot, but we triple check them all.

We do not ship out anything we would not be happy to plant ourselves.

Why are my flowers different than the photos?

We pride ourselves on an accurate system of labelling, dividing and shipping. In the very unlikely situation that a plant isn’t what you ordered or expected, please contact us with photos so we can investigate.

One of my tubers didn’t grow, my plant died or looks diseased!

As growing conditions vary considerably and are out of our control, once tubers have been planted we cannot take any responsibility for the health of the plants. Tuber storage is also out of our control, hence if you have any issues with your tubers please only notify us within 48 hours after receiving your order.

The most common reason tubers don’t grow is due to rot from overwatering, so please be mindful of this.

We make every effort to only grow healthy, disease free plants, and remove any we suspect may have any virus. Unfortunately viruses can lay dormant in dahlias and only start to show symptoms when stressed or passed on by another plant after planting. For this reason, we are unable to refund plants that you suspect may be diseased. If a plant is looking unwell, first be sure to look at its environment and make sure it has enough food, water and sun, correct pH, no pests, etc.
